Field Training Officer Course

Cost: $525 per student

Our three (3) day Field Training Officer Course is based on the industry standard San Jose FTO Model. This course satisfies C.A.L.E.A. accreditation standards and is certified by IADLEST as part of the National Certification Program™. It will provide FTOs with the tools and knowledge to properly train a new officer. From ethics to leadership, our FTO course covers the topics required to train, evaluate, mentor, and lead a field trainee.  The course offering includes:

· Expectations of / for FTO’s (Roles of the FTO)

· Ethics & Professionalism

· Leadership Skills

· Teaching and Training Skills/Adult learning Styles

· Intro to Competency Evaluations/DORs/DOR Videos

· Intervention Techniques/ Legal Issues/Liability

· Driver Safety/FTO Awareness or

· Practical Exercise Test

· Case Studies/Phase Evaluation Presentation
