About the event

Field Training Officer

Update Class Will provide the student with an understanding of the  industry standard San Jose FTO Model. It will provide  those who have attended the GSPCC Basic FTO Course  or are seeking to refresh their outdated/expired FTO  certification from another course, with advanced tools  and knowledge, to effectively train and evaluate  recruit field trainees. The course will focus on  leadership fundamentals, ethics and professionalism,  teaching and training techniques and methodologies,  as well as the proper application of the Standardized  Evaluation Guidelines (SEGS) when completing Daily  Observation Reports (DORS). This does not take the  place of a full FTO Course. Attendees must have  completed an FTO Basic Course for admission to the  refresher course. • Ethics & Professionalism • Leadership, Liability & Intervention • Teaching and Training Skills Update • Working with Adult Learning Styles • Standardized Evaluation Guidelines Review • DORs/Remediation • DOR Videos and Application activities.
