New England HIDTA
Designated in 1999, the New England HIDTA provides funding resources, facilitates and enhances coordination of federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies in designated areas. This enables them to combine and leverage resources and capabilities to carry out activities , addressing the specific drug threats of those areas.

New England HIDTA is committed to keeping our community educated and informed, by providing access to industry news, updates, helpful resources, and other important information.
The New England HIDTA Training Initiative provides professional, high quality, “tuition free” or at low cost, law enforcement training classes to our federal, state and local law enforcement partners and affiliated agencies.
New England HIDTA sponsors two main types of ongoing initiatives. These initiatives include the Investigative Support Center (ISC)and several Law Enforcement Initiatives.
New England HIDTA sponsors prevention initiatives and special projects throughout the year. These initiatives help the organization to consistently achieve its mission and vision.

Prescription Drug Project
The New England HIDTA Drug Threat Assessment has identified opioid abuse, primarily of heroin and controlled prescription opioids, as the most significant drug threat to the New England region.

New England HIDTA partners with colleges & universities in the New England area to find confident, driven, & capable students to work in our office.
S.C.O.P.E. of Pain
Since 2013 New England HIDTA has held a collaborative partnership with the Boston University School of Medicine (BUSOM) to offer an accredited program, the Safe & Competent Opioid Prescribing Education (SCOPE) of Pain.

The New England HIDTA Drug Threat Assessment has identified opioid abuse, primarily of heroin and controlled prescription opioids, as the most significant drug threat to the New England region.
Essex County Youth Leadership Academy
The prevention initiative identifies at-risk youth in local communities, offering them unique opportunities to embrace the values of leadership and mentorship.

Crime Gun Initiative (CGIC)
CGIC is a recently established partnership between New England HIDTA and ATF. This effort seeks to identify weapons used in crimes of violence. Enforcement task forces are required to provide seized firearm information which is then forwarded to CGIC analysts for the purpose of developing case linkages and intelligence gathering.
